Let The Sun Shine

I have, yet another, sinus infection. Went to the Dr. on Thursday and was given a shot and an antibiotic. I feel much better, but I think I could sleep all day, which is a rare thing for me. I actually took a nap today. I haven't done that in a long time.

For the past year my brother, who is diabetic, has been struggling with a wound on his foot that just doesn't want to heal. It would get better for awhile but, has never healed completely. He had a Dr. appointment on Tuesday and was admitted to the hospital. They did some tests and found that the infection was into the bone. So, on Friday his toe had to be removed. Thankfully the infection was confined to the big toe and the surgeon feels that this will get rid of the infection and that the heavy duty antibiotics he is taking will finally let this heal.

My sister's Mother-in-law has been battling ovarian cancer. She had been doing okay but, learned last week that the cancer has spread. She was taken off chemo and told all that could be done was to keep her comfortable. I think this news has taken away her will to fight. She is now bed ridden and not doing good at all.

I choose this picture for Shadow Shot Sunday because it shows that despite what is going on in ours lives or around us, that the suns rays still shine upon us giving us hope for a brighter tomorrow.

God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.

God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain, rocky and steep,
Never a river, turbid and deep.

  3. Looks like if you did not have bad news, you would not have any. What terrible things you and family are going through. Trust time will take care of some of these. You still felt like sharing a neat shadow. Take care.

    BOOKISH SHADOWS

    Darksome shadows in my path,
    You are not the Grapes of Wrath;

    And yet when I hear your hums,
    Something Wicked This Way Comes!

    May your darkness turn to light
    Like The House of Mirth, all right?

    May all sadness drift away—

  6. That is a beautiful poem - God allows for the good, but the bad still intrudes. Perhaps we are afforded what we alone can endure. Life has no givens, yet each day to fight is still a day that is blessed.

    Given that, it is terrible that our loved ones have to endure, only wishing we could take some of their pain to help them. If only...

    The picture is beautiful, the sun overpowering any gray that may intrude. Each ray of sunshine worth more than gold, an affirmation of life and its beauty. This is a wonderful post...
