Inside Shadows

This past week has been a cloudy, rainy, miserable time. There hasn't been alot of sun to create those wonderful shadows and I have yet another sinus infection along with an ear infection too. Dr. gave me a shot and antibiotic, so I am on the mend.

I did manage to find a few shadows around the house. A shadow seeker is not discouraged by a cloudy day, we simply seek different sources of light.  

These stools are very often the spot where my daughter and I leave our purses when we arrive home. I noticed one evening the purses leaving their shadows on the floor.

 

 We have an oil heater that sits in between our kitchen and living room, it too casts a shadow on the floor when the overhead light is on.

My little dog, Peanut, had to investigate what I was doing when I was taking my pictures, but when I took his picture, he tried to hide. He's such a funny little dog.

This House Has Gone To The Dogs

This is our little Pekingese/Pomeranian mix dog. We have had him for about 3 1/2 years.
He was bought for my daughter and was supposed to be "Her" dog.

But, you know how those things go. The kid drives you nuts until you get them the pet they want. They promise to take care of it and feed it and clean up after it etc, etc... That last for a short time. Then you end up doing everything.

That is how it has been with Peanut. I am the one that takes care of him. He has become My dog.

For the most part, I don't mind. He is a pretty good dog, though a bit aggressive at times.

In February, 2011 Lindsey went to visit her Dad and came home with a puppy. A Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix that she named, "Sophie". 

Peanut was not too sure about another dog being in the house. He was quick to let her know just who was boss.
After a few weeks they settled into a co-existance.
But, for me, it became twice the work. Especially since Sophie was not house broken and Peanut began wanting to "mark" his territory.

 

Peanut stays in our laundry room when we are gone and Sophie would stay in her crate. We tried leaving both of them in the laundry room, but that didn't work.

I hated leaving Sophie locked in a crate all day so I started taking her to work with us. At first this wasn't too bad, but as Sophie grew and got heavier, it became alot of trouble.

Our clients loved her, she is such a

sweet dog.

But, she is a very high strung dog and was constantly into something. 

By May I just couldn't do it anymore. So we gave Sophie away.

We were back to one dog.
Peanut was happy to be the center of attention again.

Able to lay in sun puddles without being disturbed, except for Mom snapping a picture or two.


Until...

A Husky named, "Buddy". An early Valentines Day gift from Lindsey's boyfriend entered the picture.

Buddy is a beautiful and a very good natured dog.

He doesn't reside at our house. He lives with Tyler, Lindsey's boyfriend, except for occassional visits.

Peanut was a bit afraid of Buddy, at first. I guess their size difference had alot to do with that.

However, by the third visit, Peanut began to let Buddy know that this is His house. 

They are actually rather funny. Buddy wants to play and Peanut just wants to be left alone.
