Seven Random Facts About Me:
1. I am a compulsive organizer. 2. I love watching the sun come up, especially over the ocean. 3. I am a picture taking nut, I carry a camera in my purse at all times. 3. I always carry a purse, I feel lost without it.. 4. I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. I have been preparing meals since the age of 13. 5. I married at the age of 16. (Divorced 3 months shy of 25 years). Now remarried. 6. I am a Country Girl, raised on a small farm in a small town. 7. I have worked as a Waitress, a Grocery Store Clerk, a Baby Sitter, an Avon Representative, a Seamstress, a Cleaning Lady (cleaned houses for others), a Retail Supervisor, and now a Paralegal.
On the second Saturday of each month, from April to October, our downtown area has a Street Fair.
Vendors from surrounding counties set up booths and display their wares in Fountain Square Park.

. This tiger was quite popular, for $2 you could stand beside it and have your picture made. The blow ups are always popular with the kids too.
I thought some of the stained glass items were very pretty. The lady with the balloons on her head was promoting her husband's balloon business.
Some kids used the sidewalk for a game of marbles.
There was several tents with jewelry for sale. This particular vendor also had shopping baskets for sale.
At this table you could paint plaster animals. The little girl was sure enjoying her painting, she was talking a mile a minute as she painted.
At one end of the park there is a tent set up for the entertainers. This is on the bands playing today. They were playing old rock and folk songs.
If you needed yard furniture, it was there too. Across the street from the park is a apartment building for the elderly. A few of them love to bake and on warm days they set up their table and sale their baked goods. Several time I have bought their goodies. They take turns manning the table. When I arrived there was a woman selling the items, but as I was leaving she had been replaced by this gentleman.
As I was going to my car, I saw the rod iron fence was leaving its shadow on the sidewalk. Being a shadow seeker, I had to walk over and take a picture. It was a wonderful day for the Street Fair, not too hot, not too cold. It was a bit windy, but still a very nice day. Linked with Shadow Shot Sunday 2 and Straight Out of The Camera. Well I guess you can tell from my song choice, that this has been a tough week. I have to say that the mere act of putting this post together has been quite therapeutic. Hopefully next week will be Much Better!! For more fun with music and photos, head over to Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song.
My walks to the Post Office have become more frequent over the past few weeks, due to the cutting back of hours of postal employees in our little town. Our mail is now processed in Nashville, Tennessee, which is about 50 miles away.
Mail in the mail boxes scattered around the downtown area (one just across the street from our office and the one pictured here in front of the Justice Center) are now being picked up at 3:45 instead of 5:00 as they had been for years. This has been a huge inconvenience for us as well as the other attorneys downtown. We have many mailings that are certified deliveries and MUST be post marked on that day.
So now these either have to be ready for mailing and in the mail box by 3 pm or walked to the Post Office. (this is the view walking back from the Post Office - our office is the white building on the left at the corner).
Before this change I only took heavy mailings or Express mailings to the Post Office. At least now I am getting a little more walking in and have more opportunities to find shadows. Here are a few I found this week.

I liked the way the balconies projected lattice like shadows on the wall of the building.

Along with shadows, I had to share the shots I took of some of the greenery around one of the buildings after a recent rain.
I love capturing raindrops on flowers and greenery.

My daughter and I visited Graceland in July of 2009. My husband and stepson were also along on the trip but they did not visit Graceland with us. So it turned out to be a special mother-daughter trip. We spent the whole day on the grounds touring all the exhibits, museums and house. My daughter was surprised at how much she enjoyed it.
