The inspiration for the song came after a break-up between Durrette and his girlfriend at the time. He knew the best cure for his broken heart was just escaping reality for a few days.
Gonna
put the the world away for a minute,
Pretend I don't live in it.
Sunshine gonna wash my blues away.

Had sweet love but I lost it.
She He got too close so I fought her him.
Now I'm lost in the world trying to find me a better way.
(St. Augustine Lighthouse - 2008)
Now I'm lost in the world trying to find me a better way.
(St. Augustine Lighthouse - 2008)
Wishing I was knee deep in the water somewhere,
Got the blue sky breeze and it don't seem fair,
(Tybee Island, Georgia - 2007)
(Cocoa Beach - 2008)

Mind on a permanent vacation.
The ocean is my only medication.
Wishing my condition ain't ever gonna go away.

'Cause now I'm knee deep in the water somewhere,
Got the blue sky breeze blowing wind through my hair.

This champagne shore washing over me.
It's a sweet, sweet life living by the salty sea.
(My daughter's Trip to Panama City Beach - March 17, 2012)
One day you could be as lost as me.
Change you're geography,
Maybe you might be...
Change you're geography,
Maybe you might be...

Come on in,the water's nice.
Find yourself a little slice.
Grab a backpack of lies.
You never know until you try.

That's a great song, it does sound like something Jimmy Buffet would sing (I do hear him). Those are some gorgeous beaches. After waking up to snow this morning I wouldn't mind being knee deep in any of that surf.
ReplyDeleteThe fire in the sky is very beautiful. I live near the beach, but I am too lazy to go.
ReplyDeleteOnce again this is stupendous. [I especially like the lighthouse photo and the view from the hotel room].......all tho, are fantastic. And Jimmy Buffet...an amazing talent if you ask me. Another grade "A" themesong!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm a day late...yesterday I wasn't online ---cleaning the LAST room for Spring! It's done. Yay.
