Super Moon

So tonight we had a "Super Moon". It is the closest that the moon has been to the earth in 18 years.
The skys were a bit cloudy and I had to go out a couple of times to get my shots. But, it was worth it.
The moon was really bright and looked like it had a bright shining ring around it. I thought these would make good Shadow Shot Sunday pictures.

I played with the different settings on my camera and got some decent pictures.
When the clouds cleared, I was able to get a couple of close up shots, but in these you can't see the bright ring.
I hope you enjoy the pictures!!
And, that you head over to Hey Harriet to see the Shadow Shots others have posted this week.

  4. Love 'em all. Especially the one with the clouds drifting over....here, as always, when some great skywatch phenomenon happens, we get thick overcast cloudiness and impossible to view.

  5. For me (and for many others), the moon is the hardest object to photograph. I think you've done a superb job!

    SHADOW SINGER

    Of shadows an old man did sing;
    He chanted in Guelph and Beijing;
    The shade was his friend,
    He loved it no end—
    It made him feel rich as a king!

  6. Hi Jeanette, you did great! We never did get to see it because it was too cloudy. I sure wish that my photos from the night before were better, because it was really pretty then too.

    Thanks so much for stopping by to say hi, and have a wonderful week!

  7. Nice moon shots. As was the case with us west-coasters, the cloud cover was so thick that not even a lighting of the sky was apparent. Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!
