This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.

This little light of mine

Let is shine,

Let it shine.

Out My Back Door

Been a very busy day today. I haven't had a chance to be on the computer until now.  But, I wanted to post my Shadow Shot.

This is a picture taken from my back door. I have seen this particular group of shadows many times while in my back yard. The basketball goal in the distance, the light post on the patio and the stove flue. However, we have replaced the roof on our house because of wind damage we received from storms back in June. Since we were replacing the roof and we do not use the flue, we decided to remove it completely, as it has leaked around it into our living room on several occasions. So I no longer see the shadow from the flue when I look out my back door.
If you would like to see more Shadow Shots, head over to Hey Harriet.
Happy Sunday!!

Born Country

BORN COUNTRY

Performed by: ALABAMA (1991)

Written by:  Byron Hill & John Schweers

Clear creeks

and cool mountain mornin's.

Honest work out in the fields.

Cornbread in my momma's kitchen.
Daddy saying grace before the meal.

Family ties run deep in this land.
And I'm never very far from what I am.

I was born country and that's what I'll always be.

Like the rivers and the woodlands wild and free.

I got a hundred years of down home running through my blood.

I was born country and this country's what I love.

Moonlight and you here beside me.

Crickets serenadin' in the yard.

What more could two people ask for.

Laying here in love beneath the stars.

Now this is where I wanna raise my kids.

Just the way my mom and daddy did.

Shadows From The Bank

Another busy week here. The hubby had a Trial and a couple of other Court Hearings this week. So I have been at the office by myself quite a bit. I have to admit I rather enjoy those times as it allows me to get things caught up a bit. On the other hand the days before a Trial are usually long with all the preparations. I am glad we don't have these all the time.

On to the shadows:

My husband and I were sitting in the drivethrough at the bank when I happen to notice these shadows being cast on the building across from the bank.

I managed to snap a few pictures before we pulled away from the bank.

I like to capture the object that is casting the shadow in my picture when possible. Sometimes the shadow looks very different from the object, but sometimes it is so close to the actually object that it seems like there are two objects.

Shadows are such fun. Want to see more shadows? Then head over to Hey Harriet and see the shadows others have found this week.

Shadows On The Sidewalk

Several times a week I walk to the Post Office and while I am walking, I am always on the hunt for shadows. Most days I see the everyday ordinary shadows of the buildings, light posts, traffic lights, etc...

However, this week I noticed a small tree casting its shadow on the sidewalk. It was such a nice shadow, I just had to snap a picture.

Sailing....Takes Me Away

It's not far down to Paradise
At least it's not for me. (I Wish!!)

And if the wind is right you can sail away,

Find tranquility.

The canvas can do miracles,
Just you wait and see,
Believe Me.

It's not far to never never land
No reason to pretend.

And if the wind is right you can find the joy

Of innocence again.

The canvas can do miracles

Just you wait and see

Believe me.

                      SAILING........

Takes me away
To where I've always
heard it could be.

Just a dream and the wind
to carry me,

And soon I will be free.

Oh I do Love Sail Boats. All of these pictures were taken on our Honeymoon.
Hope you enjoyed them and the song! And, I hope you join in on the fun over at Thursday Theme Song!!

Back To School

Well I guess Summer is officially over since today it is back to school for the kiddos. No more staying up late and just waking up when you wake up, we are now back to 6 a.m. alarm clock sounds.

For me it is sort of sad. My baby girl starts her Senior year today. I still can't believe it. Seems like yesterday she was a little girl and now she is practially grown. She has her driver's license now and next week will have her own car. Only one week of driving her to school, then she will be driving herself. My baby is growing up whether I like it or not.

Beautiful Savannah Churches

Well it sure has been a busy week here. Seems that the phone has rung non stop, which is a good thing, but solving peoples problems can sure wear you out. I have welcomed having some down time today.
Anyway, while looking through some photos for my Shadow Shot Sunday Post, I happened upon some that I took a few years ago of the beautiful churches in Savannah. I hope you enjoy.

I think my favorite was The Cathedral of St. John The Baptist.
It is such a beautiful church inside and out, with its wonderfully detailed stained glass windows.

The sun was shining so brightly through the windows, it was hard to get a picture.

As I got closer the details of the windows seemed to just jump right out at you.

When I zoomed in on the individual windows, the surroundings got darker, but it made the stained glass show up even better.

Every direction I turned there was beautiful windows.

The wood work was just as detailed, but didn't show up very well in my photos.

Another one of my favorites was The Independent Presbyterian Church. This church is the one seen in the movie Forest Gump. (the scene when the feather is floating down)

The St. John's Episcopal Church was a very pretty church also. I was using a smaller camera then and couldn't get a picture of the entire church. But, I did mamage to capture some lovely tree shadows on the side of the building.

My last group of pictures are of The Temple Mickve Isreal. The synagogue has a museum that displays objects and documents relating to Jewish life in early Savannah.

Savannah is such a beautiful place with so many wonderful things to see and do. So many streets with Spanish Moss hanging from the trees, (which make wonderful shadows by the way), so many Big Beautiful houses, cobblestone streets, restaurants galore, art museums, tons of historical sites, and Tybee Island Beach nearby. A picture taking tourists can find so many things to photograph. I know I sure did!!
To see more shadow shots head on over to Hey Harriet and see what wonderful shadows others from around the world have posted this week.
