Knee Deep

Performed By: Zac Brown Band
Featuring: Jimmy Buffet
Written By: Wyatt Durrette, Zac Brown, Coy Bowles, and Jeffrey Steele
From the 2010 Album: You Get What You Give

The inspiration for the song came after a break-up between Durrette and his girlfriend at the time. He knew the best cure for his broken heart was just escaping reality for a few days.

Gonna put the the world away for a minute,
Pretend I don't live in it.
Sunshine gonna wash my blues away.

(Roadside beach access between Daytona and St. Augustine - Honeymoon Trip 2008)

Had sweet love but I lost it.
She He got too close so I fought her him.
Now I'm lost in the world trying to find me a better way.

(St. Augustine Lighthouse - 2008)

Wishing I was knee deep in the water somewhere,
Got the blue sky breeze and it don't seem fair,

(Tybee Island, Georgia - 2007)

Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair.

(Cocoa Beach - 2008)

Sunrise there's a fire in the sky.
Never been so happy, Never felt so high.
And I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise.

(Tybee Island - 2007)

Wrote a note said be back in a minute.

Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.

Don't think anybody gonna miss me anyway.

(St. Augustine, Florida - June 2008)

Mind on a permanent vacation.
The ocean is my only medication.
Wishing my condition ain't ever gonna go away.

(Balcony of our hotel - Daytona Beach 2008)

'Cause now I'm knee deep in the water somewhere,
Got the blue sky breeze blowing wind through my hair.

(My daughter - Myrtle Beach 2009)

Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair.

(Daytona Beach - Honeymoon Trip 2008)

Sunrise there's a fire in the sky.
Never been so happy, Never felt so high.
And I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise.

(Daytona Beach, Florida - 2008)

This champagne shore washing over me.
It's a sweet, sweet life living by the salty sea.

(My daughter's Trip to Panama City Beach - March 17, 2012)

One day you could be as lost as me.
Change you're geography,
Maybe you might be...

(Hunting Island Beach,South Carolina - 2007)

Knee deep in the water somewhere.
Got the blue sky breeze blowing wind through my hair.

(Tybee Island Beach - 2007)
I can't believe I am putting a picture of me in a bathing suit on here!!

Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair.

(Tybee Island, Georgia - 2007)

Sunrise there's a fire in the sky.
Never been so happy, Never felt so high.
And I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise.

(Daytona Beach - 2008)

Come on in,the water's nice.
Find yourself a little slice.
Grab a backpack of lies.
You never know until you try.

(My daughter's trip to Panama City Beach - March 2012)

When you lose yourself,
You find the key to paradise.

(My son's Spring Break Trip to Mexico - 2007)

  2. That's a great song, it does sound like something Jimmy Buffet would sing (I do hear him). Those are some gorgeous beaches. After waking up to snow this morning I wouldn't mind being knee deep in any of that surf.

  3. The fire in the sky is very beautiful. I live near the beach, but I am too lazy to go.
