Shadows and Birdys

Spent the day today running errands and shopping with my daughter, since I have been away from home most of the day, this will be a short post. But I wanted to share the shadows I found this week and a few of my birdy friends.

As I was going out to start my car on Thursday I noticed these shadows on the church at the end of our street. Usually I leave the house earlier, but on this day I left around noon. I am glad that I did, the different time of day allowed me to capture these great shadow shots.

Earlier in the week as I was filling my bird feeders I noticed the shadow on the ground from one of my feeders. Being a Lighthouse fan, I had to capture the lighthouse feeder's shadow in a photo. And, share it with my fellow shadow seekers.

My little Chickadee visitors are becoming brave and stay in the tree while I am at the feeders, as long as I don't move too quickly.
This one let me snap a couple of shots before flying off. I read in one of my bird books that these birds can be tamed and hand fed, I am not surprised as they have allowed me to get pretty close to them lately.

I managed to capture this Nuthatch on one of the feeders. I love the way that they feed, head first from the feeders. So cute!

The Tufted Titmouse is another one that has a unique way of feeding. even when the suet feeders are full it often feeds from the bottom. Lately they have taken a liking to my husband's car too.

The Dark Eyed Junco is a pretty little bird and one that enjoys sitting on my patio wall.

The Juncos had a surprise visitor, the Red Bellied Woodpecker, to the wall, I'm glad that I was able to capture it.
Don't you just love this pose???

Last but not least, this is a Blue Jay in my back yard that I captured last Saturday as the sleet/snow was beginning to fall.

  17. I love your shadow shots but I really love your birds. I do love the pose the woodpecker gave you and kudos to you on that wonderful Blue Jay shot. I have been trying to get a good shot for weeks now of one. They are all so shy this year. Usually I don't have a problem at all getting pictures of them.

Thanks for all of these wonderful shares. I hope you have a lovely week!
