Wedding Day

The Wedding Bells will soon be ringing.

I think I have played the ceremony
over in my head a thousand times,
I keep thinking have I forgotten anything.

I guess it is time to take a deep breath
and just let it all fall into
place..........
I wish someone would tell my stomach that.
I suppose every bride is this way the day before their wedding.
Epecially when the weather man has put that "R" word into his forcast, only a slight chance, but still a chance.
It's not going to rain, it's not going to rain, it's not going to rain.........come on say it with me. Fingers crossed and all.

My next blog will be as Mrs. Bratcher. ; )

Formal Night

Lindsey's 8th grade Formal was last night
and I thought I would share with my readers
some of the pictures that I took of her.

This was taken in our front yard.

This one was taken at home, in our dining room.

This picture was taken on the Old Richardsville Bridge. Is is an old one lane wooden bridge that all the kids in the area have been told for years is haunted.

These were taken at the River Walk off of
Louisville Road (31-W).

River Walk Park is small, but very pretty.

Always have to make time for a phone call.

Here she is at the school posing with a couple of her friends before the dance.

I can't believe how grown up she has gotten.
My baby girl is now a highschooler.......I feel so old.

Phones

When I was a child, if someone would have told me that one day I would be using a phone that I could carry around in my pocket and use while I am driving in my car, I would have thought that they were crazy.
The thought of a phone that is not attached to the wall with ten feet of spiral cord wrapped around everything would have been hilarious.
I was thrilled when we no longer had a party line. (something my daughter just can't imagine)
But, things change and we have become very dependent on our mobile/cell phones.

In fact, we no longer have a house phone, we rely on our cell phones for all of our calls.

The one I have is probably around 4 years old. It works very well, but is out dated. It only has the capability of making and receiving calls. It is not a PDA or a camera or a MP3 player, it merely is a phone. I've been thinking about getting myself a new updated one for awhile now. One that I can have a ring tone for everyone programed into my phone.

So,a few days ago, I bought myself a new phone.
It looks like this pic except mine is black.

I knew that Lindsey had a couple of broken phones at home with memory cards in them, so I opted not to buy one of those, but to take a chance on one of her old ones fitting my new phone.
I was right, one did fit.

Of course, it was full of HER music. A couple hundred songs of her music. So I began the task of deleting the stuff, at least most of it. Alot of the songs I would not recognize by the title so I would listen (usually only for a few seconds) and then delete.

I took off 3 Soulja Boy's, a Bartender, a Bump Like This...Hurricane,Cyclone, Stilletos In Da Club, Lip Gloss Be Poppin, Pants Around Your Feet, Aw Naw, Party Like A Rock Star, Wipe Me Down, Ay Ba By, Bootymeat, T-Pain, Young Joc LOL............. I just didn't think I wanted my phone ringing to any of these tunes.

I did keep some songs. I rather like Avril Lavigne, Fergie, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, Hinder, Martina McBride, Rihanna, Usher, Colbie Caillat, Rascal Flatts, and Plain White T's.

I will have to say, my daughter likes a wide range of music.

Those of you reading this that have teens around will definitely be able to relate, all of you other folks........Thank Your Lucky Stars!!

Now I have a new phone that I can set cool ringtones for everybody, it has a camera with video capability and a MP3 player. I am updated, I just have to figure out how to use all the cool functions available to me now. Also, I have to remember who has what ringtone..........

Still Making Plans

Wedding plans are on track and coming right along.

We are beginning to receive responses to our invitations.

The kids and I have begun to put the favor boxes together.

We have the guys suits and matching shirts. (Boy, was finding matchng shirts a challenge)

I've decided which dresses the girls will be wearing.
This decision was finally made because I found a NEW dress for myself.
I have looked and looked and looked for a dress that I liked and that looked good on me, for quite some time. The only thing I had been able to find was suits. I bought two of them and like them, but really wanted something a little different. Well a few days ago I was doing some shopping and I found THE DRESS. I LOVE IT. It is a beige sleeveless dress with sequins at the top. Dressy, but not formal. It is JUST RIGHT.

We have the vows and the ceremony all planed out.

I'm still working on the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

I still have to meet with Teri from Federal Grove, but she wants to wait untill about two weeks before so that things will be fresh in her mind. They have other weddings and we sure don't want her to get things mixed up...LOL....

I'm toying with ideals for what to do with my hair.

I'll probably give the musicians a call this week and discuss the songs that they will be playing.

So many details.........But I love watching it all come together.

That is my update for now. I hope that you guys are making your plans to attend. I know we sure will be happy and honored to have you there.
