Shadows From The Bank

Another busy week here. The hubby had a Trial and a couple of other Court Hearings this week. So I have been at the office by myself quite a bit. I have to admit I rather enjoy those times as it allows me to get things caught up a bit. On the other hand the days before a Trial are usually long with all the preparations. I am glad we don't have these all the time.

On to the shadows:

My husband and I were sitting in the drivethrough at the bank when I happen to notice these shadows being cast on the building across from the bank.

I managed to snap a few pictures before we pulled away from the bank.

I like to capture the object that is casting the shadow in my picture when possible. Sometimes the shadow looks very different from the object, but sometimes it is so close to the actually object that it seems like there are two objects.

Shadows are such fun. Want to see more shadows? Then head over to Hey Harriet and see the shadows others have found this week.

  1. It`s only when you see shadows like this that you realize how much stuff is up above our heads on a daily basis. Great shots. Happy SSS.

  2. Funny how a simple shadow had eluded us till now...huh!

Too bad so many working family farms have gone by the wayside, but I think there's a new world a cumin', with the rising costs of food, many more are doing gardens and going off grid. We've become soft and lazy, it's much easier to run to the store and never stop to smell the cabbages...ha!

    Have a great week!

  7. yeah, I think these shadows have a whole lot of character. isn't it great the things we notice once we have looked for them previously? we train our eyes to notice and that's a great thing. happy SSS Jeanette.

  8. We see a utility pole, and consider it a boring, a piece of everyday life without excitement. Yet, the pole is almost artistic in shadow along with the transformer, is so cool ins shadow. A neat everyday piece of art!

  9. Those shadows...they're just everywhere aren't they? Once you start focusing on them...they're hard to escape.

  10. Yes, it is nice to get both the object and the shadow in the photo. And, because of the angle of the sun, the shadow can be a lot bigger or smaller than the actual object. Very deceiving sometimes. Mickie :)

  11. Isn't it amazing what you see when you just stop and look. Why look at what you saw waiting in the drive-thru?!!! Awesome. And yes, I know what you mean about having some time to catch up on work that normally doesn't get done when others are in the office.
